does not have life-threatening diseases? Life altering diseases (down's syndrome)? Mild genetic diseases (color blindness)? societal setbacks (low IQ)? If one is OK where do u draw the line?

Absolutely, all of the above.

A fertilized egg is little more than a blob of protoplasm. It most definitely does not constitute a "human life" in the sense that many religious fundamentalists would have you believe. So at this stage, the parents should be able to test it for anything at all that can be determined by genetics before making the decision to implant.

While I personally would not let something as minor as color blindness affect my decision, I don't think anyone has the right to make the decision for me, nor do I think I have the right to make it for someone else.

Each parent draws the line. No one should make this decision for anyone else. If the parents disagree, the mother has 51 votes and the father 49.
