I've heard of that too and I think it'd ridiculous! It's bad enough that I can't celebrate Christmas the way I was raised too because I'm making an Un-Christian person uncomfortable but now kids can't even enjoy the innocence of Santa? Come on, gimme a break!

Have hear similar comments, but usually the public overlooks it because he's a source of happiness for kids and helps provide good childhood memories for them as they participate in the whole Santa thing.

Yes. And in order to get that sleigh to carry all those toys and gifts, they had to cut down on the size of the seat. So now he has to stand while he drives his sleigh.
