I attended a funeral for a Korean Veteran today and one of the speakers said most people in todays world tend to ask, "What is my purpose in life? Am I doing what I am supposed to be doing?" Then there are people like Charles (Korean Vet) who always asked, "Where is my help needed next? What can I do to help my people?" And he went. That is exactly how he was. I realized, there aren't many like that anymore.

I believe people get more and more shallow with every generation, thinking more about themselves and less about othhers. This started in the mid-sixties with the "awakening" of people's "freedoms of expressions", loosening of sexual morals, encouragement of drug use, and the belief that the younger generation somehow is more enlightened. Along with this comes a generation where more children come from families that are more affluent and enjoy a higher standard of living than ever. A larger percentage of children are brought up without having to be told "no" by ever-doting parents. Personal responsibilty is a thing of the past. The media is guilty of fueling much the poor behavior by portraying spoiled, irresponsible behavior as "cool" (think Briittany and Jamie Lynn Spears, Paris Hilton, anyone on MTV and such).
When I was young, behavior like that was rewarded with a stern punishment-often after a good old-fashioned spanking. Spare the rod and spoil the child.

Culture behaviour is more distinguished by training at home or in social groups.
Human knowledge of moral values of respect for ones elders
comes from up bringing of racial, religious or social groups
I believe that if it is taught it would not matter if someone has went under the knife or not.....
The people who go under the knife to be young and beautiful not sure how that has to do with the youth not having respect for seniors........
I would think anyone that has to many surgery or does not check out the doctor that is doing the procedure is not respecting ones self

I believe we are no longer a cultured civilisation striving to improve. There are too many people seeking untold wealth in ways that would have seemed underhanded and illegal in times past. Educationally and morally, we are at a crossroad and unless someone grasps the nettle and brings about a sea-change in the way we go about our daily lives we shall steadily sink into a pit of ineptitude.

What culture? It's not even about seniors yo, anyone older shoudl be respected, were I try try some of this **** when I was coming up I'd get bitchslapped, of course my folks also allowed anyone older than me to discipline me too, but that was a different time, when this country was raising men and not this little ***** bullshit.

There was a world, a horibble twisted world. People would not bare to see anyone's face but those of young people and perfect celebrities. Shame and digust fill people's minds. Everyone wants to achieve total perfection and stay "in". Who are you? You are tall, blond, a white, curvy, blue eyes and western. You only know of yourself. You will stop at nothing to gain perfection. You don't care about other people. Only you. You. YOU. Welcome to the 21st century. Maybe the last century.

We have to accept the fact that there will be good and bad in this world. Nothing can change it. As long as we do good and try to convince people to do good, we have done our part.
