What damage can an X-ray do to a fetus in VERY early pregnancy?

I'm almost positive I'm pregnant. But it would be very very early. I had to go to the hospital a few days ago to get some tests done and they wanted to do x-rays of my kidneys and stomach. I told the tech that I could possibly be pregnant and he did a urine test which came out negative, obviously, because I just ovulated about a week ago.

My question is, if I did get pregnant this month but hadn't implanted yet or was so early along that it didn't even show up on a test, could the x-ray have hurt my baby in any way? And if so, the extent of the damage that would have been done?

I only had 2 pictures taken- I think it was supposed to be more but because I was hesitant about having them in case of a pregnancy he only did the 2.

If you were having your foot x-rayed, I wouldn't worry, but since it was your abdomen and it was that early, it could possibly terminate the pregnancy.

No one, not even your doctor, can make you have an x-ray. You ALWAYS have the right to refuse.

Beauty: if you pulled the shield up too high, it would have covered your lung bases, requiring additional pictures - meaning additional exposure.

when I found out I was pregnant they did an xray on me. I was vry pissed off and wore one of those skirts. The doctor wanted to see my lungs, and when I got in the xray room I asked him to cover me up all the way but he was an idiot so I pulled up the skirt and he tried to pull it down. I ws 8 weeks at the time and now I am 16 wks and the baby is growing normal and fine. Its very disturbing to know you are prgnant and have an xray done, it pissed me off so much. I wanted to decline it but my doctor is persistent in what he wants so i got it done

it would not have done damage that soon,, but if you are pos you are ,, most of the time they wont do it or double vest your tummy if possible
