Hi,my name is Amanda and I'm a Lebanese girl with some Mexican in my blood. I'm born and raised here in the United States and I live in Colorado. I'm Muslim, but I don't wear a scarf on my head. My parents don't care what I wear, but there are some rules on what I wear. I can't wear strapless or spaghetti strap tops. I can wear tops that are thick to cover at least my shoulder by a little bit and I can wear it. So it's kind of like a thick tank top. Understand? And I'm not allowed to wear short skirts, but I'm allowed to wear bermudas and no shorter than those. Same applies for dress.
My question is, when I get older (1'm 15 years old now) I'm thinking of going to NYU and fulfill my dream of becoming a fashion editor for a big magazine like Vogue, Allure, Seventeen. A magazine like that.
But, I told you of the things I'm allowed to wear do you think it'll be okay? Do you think a Muslim girl will actually be able to do it? I know I can do it, I'm a good writer.

and I'm really good in fashion. If I'm focused I know I can do it. I don't like it though, when people make fun of my religion and say the worst things about it. Because, in reality, it's a very peacful religion. You only hear about the bad cases. I get teased in school saying that the men are (supposedly) allowed to beat on the girls. NO! That's not true whatsoever. God punishes men who do this. If girls get raped, God punished the guy who did this. And they ask me if Arabic people believe in Jesus. Yes, we do. We love Jesus. He's one of our prophets. There are good and bad in every religion. All 3 religions are alike. I just don't want people sterotyping me. You know? Do you think I will be able to do this, and my religion and beliefs won't matter in the entertainment industry?

you have very good taste in clothes they all looked very nice i can see you have a good eye in fashion don't worry about your religion if you stick to what you know you will go very far in this sort of industry

I am not a Muslim, but I am not even allowed to half of those clothes. I would be soooo dead. So your parents rules are not really all the strict. TRUST ME.

i think so...if you make revealing clothes you don't need to wear them. and some of those clothes you chose out, not to be offensive or anything but even when your muslim, those clothes are not acceptable. i guess its okay if you don't wear a head scarf but wearing shirts that show off your breats, that just shows your not muslim at heart...but again, not suppose to be offensive.

Honey in this country you can do anything your heart desires as long as you try your hardest. If you want to be a designer or a fashion editor or whatever you can be it as long as you try your hardest.
