My theory is this,

the more successful you are at reporting, the less chance you will be suspended... if you read the yahoo details on becoming a top reporter this is the way it works....

So they are deliberately turning people into trolls - hence the stupid amounts of reporting going on

This is complicated by the fact that there is not proper regulation of the reporting (as seen by the number of "sorry, we can't give you the reason for your violation" messages...).

So this means that once you get top reporter you can ask more stupid or insulting questions doesn't it???

Sadly I think that's a valid point... gosh, I wish they didn't get this new system though and just hired a bunch of good judges.

No. It's a given that being a reporter does not grant one immunity from being reported oneself.
Y!A has some complex mathematical formula, allegedly, to determine who is and is not a top reporter. Since, as an estimate, 99% of all abuse reports are never resolved on behalf of the falsely reported user it's unlikely that MANY lose their status as reporters.
However the constant narking on one another makes for a hostile environment for all, whether the user reports everything he can or reports nothing EVER for ANY reason.

i replaced into sitting right here this morning considering that very question. What could compel stranger to stroll among strangers for what seems to be , just to lash out and reason havoc. Are they being paid by potential of the George Soros, Hate Bush marketing campaign? Do they hate Y/A and intend to make being on right here so depressing that folk cease coming right here? Or is it a psychological affliction. we've all heard of MPD- dissimilar character affliction. What if those political trolls be afflicted by a sort of that affliction. i like to call it MID. dissimilar Identities affliction. merely my opinion. What do you think of?

If there is a question I think is wrong I don't answer it. If there is something on here that is super offensive wrong then they can report. Other than that have fun.

You have too much time on your hands, if you spend this much time worrying about reporting and the why's. Follow the rules of the board and you don't even have to be concerned about it.
