Well it's obvious you're not talking about Michael Moore. Why aren't you. Are you some sort of snot nosed school kid? Everything in your statement with the exception of the word Republican can easily describe Michael Moore. He out weighs Rush any day of the week, month, year or decade. NOW, back to your childish out burst. We're not. The liberal biased media and the misinformed, unlearned, ignorant Democrats are the ones who are circling around Limbaugh. Only it's a circle of vultures. It's a lame attempt to distract us on the right from the atrocities of the empty suit behind the curtain. Remember that scene in the 'Wizard of Oz'? What appeared to be a big scary authoritarian was just a worn down old hat of a man. We on the right see through this attempt, those of you on the left are still tripping over yourselves to get in line for the Kool-Aid. PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE MAN/OBAMANATION BEHIND THE CURTAIN! HE's A HACK!

I am not certain that you are correct at all about wight and politics. The bottom 1/3 of the economic ladder tend to be the heaviest. The poor, espcialliy minorities (I'll explain later) and the very rich tend to be Democrats. There are far more poor people than there are uber-rich.
However, Republicans and Conservatives are much more tolerant of weight (except for Romney and Huckabee who each discriminate against he overwight.) We see being overweight as being a private moral failing as a sign of gluttony and sloth. (I'm working on my wieght.)
Those who have replaced traditional religion with environmentalism and materialistic thought consider obesity to be a sin. They also tend to support socialist medicine and feel that the weight of other's hurts us all. (Not that this concern for public health would lead them towards abstanance or anyhting drastic.)

Although the GOP was founded as the Free Soil/Abolitionist Party, it was also the party of immigration restriction, and moral nationalism. (The American Party (Know Nothing) and League of the Star Spangled Banner of the 1850s largely folded itself in the GOP). The Democrats became the party of populism and urban graft and Secession, or at least opposition to post Civil War Reconstruction. This led to a famous quip by a protestant minister which lost James Blaine the presidently in 1884: "The Democrats are the Party of Rum, Romanism, and Rebellion." (The quote, although mean spirited had enough truth piss off enough people in New York to cost Blaine the state and thus the country.)

Most minorities in this country end up either supporting socialist polticies out of personal benefit or guilt of success. (In the 1970's a political scientic coined a phrase on my co-religionists, "Jews earn like Episcopalians, but vote like Puerto Ricans.")
However there is historical also a divide between minorities and the ethnic core of this country based on identity politics. This leads many to vote for the left. (It is no different in Europe.)

However, at the end of the day, middle class white male voters have fled the Democrat party because the Democrats have adopted racial discrimination against whites in the form of affirmative action.

I am a Republican and you are wrong on every count. I used to be a Democrat until I learned what both parties were really about. This question is very biased and prejudiced ( so I would think that in reality you are leaning toward the left because they are more about prejudices than the right). By the way the Republicans are the ones who have appointed the most minorities to the highest positions in government.

The Republican party does tend to be a fat white rich guy party. The GOP does not want minorities...unless they are rich and try to be white, and even then feel they had better keep to their place. They tolerate Colin Powell...but would never support him as a Presidential candidate. Most GOP bigwigs are white racists.

>I have noticed that many Republicans tend to be white there are very few minorities in the party why is this?

The Republican party is about advancing the interests of corporations, and the wealthy elite who control them. Thats not to say there arent ignorant poor people who vote against their own best interests.

The party has changed a lot since Lincoln was a member!

As for Mississippi.. Well education makes people liberal, so the more universities a state has, the more liberal it is. Thus states like Massachusetts and California are very liberal. Cesspools of ignorance like Oklahoma and Mississippi are downright fascist.

The republicans and democrats swapped platforms over the course of a couple of decades in the early 1900s. The party of Lincoln, the republicans of the past, are todays democrats.

not just fat, white, males but predominatly so. The GOP tends to be more conservative and it's older white males who are threatened by minorities, females in power, and anything that upsets the status quo as they knew it. Like back in the era just after WWII when they were the heroes returning from the war, the economy was good, jobs were plentiful and they could live on their incomes, allowing the little wife to stay home and tend to the homefires.

However, you will find other races, genders and ages among the Republicans, probably most of them offspring of Republicans. People who live in the heartland -- the midwest e.g. -- tend to be more conservative. The current Bush has not instilled confidence in his party, what with his stubborn insistence on toughing it out in Iraq, among other ineptitudes.

Statistically speaking, yes. The older, the whiter, the richer, and the more religious you are the more likely you are to be a conservative. Of course, this is just stereotyping here, but it is a good generalization nonetheless. You will pretty much never find a minority who is Republican.

most of the minorities vote democratic because the democrats are constantly trying to take things away from the white Americans and give it to the minorities. Go to any American college YOU GET CREDITS FOR BEING ANY COLOR OTHER THAN WHITE. If you had choose between some one who made you work as hard as everyone else has to work or one that robs the hard workers to give you an easy ride who would you choose? That's why most minorities vote democratic and the ones who vote republican believe in work for what you want and pay your own way.

I guess you haven't seen Jerold Nadler(D, NY) or Ted Kennedy(D, Mass.) two of the fattest in Congress. That a very broad statement about Republicans as a whole.
