Take life seriously, and stay in school not hoping to drop out and start selling drugs then get locked up and can't support lil shadiasha and lil' Quan because they are locked up and ruining life for the next generation. What if they read books and stopped trying to act like thugs. What if they realize that there is a way out of hardship other than crime. What if they learned to zip their pants up and stop having all of these babies will it help the black community as a whole?
Please tell me why most of the African Americans going to collage are Females?
If 1 in every 3 black males weren't in jail, on probation or paroll Would the public assistance rate go down or less need for welfare? Would there be a chance to have black men in their children's lives like they are supossed to be?

We need to be real....we can't lie to ourselves and act like nothing's wrong...I mean yeah there's good and bad in all of us but seriously, so many of the Black boys i know have so much potential, but they put it all into the bad boy image and cars and music....it's sad... and I'm not tying to bash anyone, just trying to keep it real....we all have our problems but I'm talking about this one in particular...real talk...I know for sure that they aren't all the same because i have a father that takes care of all his kids (for one woman) and loves us all....so don't get the wrong idea, i know better than to judge a whole group of people like that....
no one ever said there aren't any dead beat white males or chinese or hispanic you know....but the fact is black men need to step up....there are too much in jail and not enough in college.....

Your question and your statements here have no base, there are many other young Americans that are doing the things you are saying here, isn't just a problem of the African Americans only, is a problem that every ethnic group has. Is David Hasselhof (I'm not sure if the last name spells like this, the Bay Watch guy) black? No, is Britney Spears black? No, Is Lynsey Lohan black? No. Is not even a matter of money or social status, is a matter of decisions. Sorry lady, but you should re-ask your question. There are many black people who are a good role model for our society. Color got nothing to do with it.

We get to hear about athlete's bad deeds, but don't hear much about how Emmitt Smith went back to college after he won three Super Bowls, and finished his degree. He didn't have to go back, but it might be the reason why he has a career after football.
A lot of black men buy into the hype caused by gangsta rappers who portray themselves as being arrested or gunned down in their videos.

didn't grow up in the projects. Graduated high school, and has some college.
Even more important, he has NO CRIMINAL RECORD!
They had him on 20/20 years ago and confronted him about it. He hasn't even so much as been arrested for a felony.

You made some valid points but on the flip side you don't know what caused these young black males to go down that path so even if you wanted them to do the things you stated in your post you would first have to understand those factors that may have caused these young black males to do these negative deeds.

The black men that I have known to be successful in life are the ones who stay in school, get an education past high school and take responsibility for themselves. I wonder if it's difficult for black females to find a decent black man because so many of them (the men) tend to be so flaky and that's such a waste.

First off the first post is exceptionally thick in the head or she was just joking, I hope she was joking. I alsio hope that you yourself is joking, first white people are just as lazy and criminal as any other race out it really has nothing to do with. Granted I will go along with the fact that most black men have the bitches and hoes mentality and find it hard to handle a women a real women, black white or whatever. I am not going to sit here and act like I know why black men or women act the way they do because i will never understand what it is like to be and go through what most go through, but i will tell that with the current parenting abilities of any race of parents and the youth today I would not be suprised if more and more people ended up in prison leaving fatherless children and unhappy homes behind them..

Uh.......yeah. You also forgot to mention that they should stop laughing and making fun of the young AA males who do get it...... They think its not cool to be smart speak well and dress like a grown man. I have some black male friends, but alot a can't see eye to eye to.

whether your statement is true or not....yea we do a lot of things...blacks in general......we still 300-400 dollars and go to prison for 20 years....on the other side ..whites steal millions go to jail for 18 months........think there is a problem.....

Most of the white people going to college are also female. Females have outnumbered male in college since 1995 regardless of race.
and the statement 1 out of 3 black men are in jail, prison, or on probabtion, is absolutley FALSE. I could correct that statement for you, but I wont bother.
