Computer-controlled display screens provide drivers in the Indianapolis 500 with a variety of information about how their cars are performing. For instance, as a car goes through a turn, a speed of 205 mph and a centripetal acceleration of 3.7g (3.7 times the acceleration due to gravity) are displayed. Determine the radius of the turn (in meters).

Centripital acceleration is
a=V^2/R

then

R= V^2/a
In British units 1g=32 ft/s^2
1 mile = 5280 ft and
1 hour = 3600 sec Now we are ready
R=(205 x 5280 / 3600)^2 /(3.7 x 32)
R=764 ft
