i failed my test because i didn't check my blind spots (or do head checks as she put it aswell), i just need to know when i'm turning left am i looking in my left or right blind spot and the same with a right turn i'm talking about a one laned road (i'm from aust so we drive on the left hand side of the road). i don't understand if i'm looking out for cars coming up the side of me or for pedestrians.
i've looke every where and it just says check your blind spot before you turn

Driving on the left is nut's. I'm originally from the u.k. so i know what you are talking about. Your blind spot is the part of traffic that you usually cannot see from your mirror. A quick turn of the head to the right assures you that there is no traffic there to allow you to make a turn or whatever. The same can be said of the left just move your head quickly and check things out. LOL in U.S.

Really, the point is to look everywhere, and for everything. In real-life driving, it won't really matter much, if you run into another car or a pedestrian - both situations would be really bad. You need to look for any potential problem, which means using your mirrors, and turning your head to see the spots that your mirrors don't catch.

Generally you check your blind spot when you change lanes. When you turn left or right you shoul look for pedestrians and oncoming traffic. Check you blindspot by quickly looking over your shoulder in the direction you are going towards.
