I have to write in essay that is about 4 paragraphs long about anything that has to do with, well, science. pretty much anything and you give facts about it. Im in 8th grade so i need something that is complex enough so i dont look like i didnt try, but something that isnt soo complex i dont understand it.

You can always go with the origin of the microscope.
Its a classic and no one ever does it. I am a sophmore and have done it before, i aced it.
here is a start:
The first person to obseve living cells was a man named Anton Van Leeuwenhoek, he made his microscope 10x better than a man named Hook (i forgot his whold name, but you can google it)
microscopes helped determine that all living things share the same basic characteristics:
1. consists of organized parts
2. obtain energy from their surroundings
3. perform chemical reactions
4. change with time
5. respond to enviornment
6. reproduce

write something that fascinates you or something that interests you.
i've always found natural disasters interesting or chemical reactions (such as: why does copper turn green or what color do different metals produce when they are burned & Why - though i think that is more science 10/11).
