My mom is always invading my privacy and when she notices that I don't like to talk to anyone she thinks I'm a monkey. Is she misguided about this?

Mothers are concerned about their children and believe it is their and obligation to snoop and invade their privacy. Mothers also tend to want their children to be "normal" and socialize with people. When you sulk and remain silent it worries your mother. Is she misguided? Fom your point of view maybe, but from her point of view, she couldn't do anything else since she loves you.

I think the two of you need to come to some sort of agreement about boundaries. She has the right to know what you are up to, to a degree. You have a right to keep secrets, to a degree. If your mum thinks you are smoking, doing drugs, having an internet relationship with a married person, then I think she would be a bad mother if she wasn't interfering! The trick to mothers is to communicate enough that they feel like they know what's going on. So tell her everything you can, then she's more likely to leave you alone on the topics you don't want to talk about. You aren't a monkey, but you are a typical teenager.

It happens to be a parents right, to know what is going on in their childrens lives. You have no "right to privacy" in that respect. As far as thinking you're a monkey, are you?

no that is not the right way to use the word, "misguided" is when someone guides someone in a wrong way for example
i ask u if i should start smoking ? u tell me yeah its cool do it, u missguided me here coz snoking isnt good for me in anyway.

If you live under her roof that she pays for, you don't have privacy my dear.

Not sure about the monkey part. You lose me at that part of your question.
