A question was asked about ROH getting a TV deal, and a person said if it was "pure wrestling" then it would be like UFC. That's not what we mean by pure wrestling. What we mean is there is less emphasis on storylines and promos than there are in WWE and TNA. There is more emphasis on what goes on in the ring, and not on who's sleeping with who.

Storylines make the buildup for certain matches more interesting, but if there was a promotion out there who just focused on the wrestling, and ability of another person then I would dig it. Good insight

Of course,

Pure wrestling has nothing to do with UFC matches or Pride or something similar.Pure wrestling matches in a show are this show that do no emphasizes the storylines, backstage promos and interviews but focusing on the wrestling matches e.t.c

Pure wrestling we used to have in the 70's,80's and early 90's,in the attitude era we focused more on storylines and now it is the same as attitude era but by far less entertaining...

Pure Wrestling is basically as real as professional wrestling gets. Long matches with plenty of submission holds and plenty of powerful moves. Best kind of wrestling there is. ROH is pure wrestling most of the time.

sounds like the old wccw or mid south, there were rivalries and some character development story lines but they were minimal. In my opinion though ROH is able to do without storylines etc only because they use established stars from other promotions.
