My boyfriends ex wife told him in July (before we met) that she would buy him a very expensive game system that he had been wanting for Christmas ($500). I told him that I would not like it if he accepted it and to tell her no. I dont think it is ok for him to accept something from her that I cant afford to get him. Am I wrong?

He should be polite and accept it. You should be polite and give ur boyfriend the benefit of the doubt. He's not gonna cheat cuz she can buy him an x-box. After she has given the gift, give her a little nothing back, just to show you appreciate the thought that went into her gift. Just cuz she's an ex doesn't mean you can't be civil during the holidays.

Just make sure that there is no more of this gift-giving going on afterwards between the two of them. If the presents become more personal and more frequent, then you have every right to confront him.

I honestly don't know if you're wrong or not. Technically, this was an agreement that existed before you were even in the picture, but since you definitely are in the picture now, your boyfriend should respect that fact. This is one of those issues that will test the foundation of your relationship....from this dilemma, he'll see what kind of person you are, and you'll see what kind of person he is. I hope you both like what you see. No matter how this turns out, you'll know unequivocally where you stand with this guy fairly soon. I wish you all the best.

Yes you are right, But telling him is wrong. This must be his own imitative. If he accept this or any present form her than be aware because he is still living, in his mind, with her, and she is still in love with him. If he can not make a choice you must make a choice for yourself. This can be hard but can clear his mind and save you a lot of pain. Good luck

Ask him if he sees any motive behind the gift. Reconciliation? It isn't a matter of the cost - don't try to go one better, it is a vicious cycle - but it's the thought that counts and you don't know what she is thinking and don't want him to find out either.

It is for Christmas. let him have the game, you will have him. if you try telling him he cannot have the game will only make you look like the bad one, in his eyes. just tell him that she should never give him anything else.
