goldenseal should not be taken for longer than two weeks, it can cause liver toxicity and failure.

You should not take Goldenseal for more than long enough to pass your drug test. If you are taking it for a cold or flu, you might try snorting it in small doses like snuff.
If you are allergic to caffeine, you might have some adverse reactions to Goldenseal.
As to the robbing of natural resources... We still have a plenty of Goldenseal plants here in the woods of NC.

I would say that the MORE important point is that you are not likely to actually be getting golden-seal as it is extremely rare and expensive due to over exuberant robbing of natural resources(you're probably getting yellow root) which is particularly ironic as it is not all that good a product to begin with...why would you be taking it?

Echinacea actually works better as an immune booster and is MUCH less costly and slippery elm and elderberry along with esterfied vitamin C are all better than goldenseal as they actually work...
