If? Theorize?

No, sweetheart, the continents did move apart and are moving apart and eventually moving back together. Its called plate tectonics.

Also go to http://www.wikipedia.org and type in "supercontinent" for an informative article.

It would seem they're still drifting apart, but without a Cray computer it's hard to guess what the result in millions of years will be. I liken continental drift to slag floating around on the surface of a pot of molten metal. (After all, our planet is mostly magma). There are distinct similarities to the geographic and geologic make-up of coastlines that are many miles apart. Subduction could swallow whole regions never to be seen again, and yet there are places on the surface that have been exposed for billions of years. Truly amazing. Good question.
