It depends whether the duck behind the duck was the same duck as the duck who had a duck in front (in which case there are 2 ducks), or on whether the duck who had a duck behind was the same duck who was in front of the duck (in which case there are 2 ducks), or whether the duck who had a duck behind was the same duck as the duck who had a duck in front (in which case there are 3 ducks), or whether the duck who was behind the duck was the same duck as the duck who was in front of a duck (in which case there are 3 ducks). Otherwise there are 4 ducks.

I think 4 but it might be 2 if there are only 2 ducks in the picture
