I have one, their nice to have but you'll survive if you don't get one ;) they offer extra channels, including high def. channels, but a normal TV is great too if you have a good setup, but there is a huge difference with HD! also, I don't think you're the only person without one, most people I know don't have one. So no, you're not alone!

no it is a waste of money who cares if ur picture on ur tv is all that clear at lease u have a tv and it works and u can watch the same thing other people watch on cable..
...going to my room and cry...y does everyone have hd tv and i dont gosh

Yes, I treated myself to one on my 50th birthday, flat screen 42 inch plasma HD. And guess what. THERE'S STILL NOTHING GOOD ON! Waste of money. Good picture quality though. It took forever to get the thing on the wall and up and running.

Feb 2009, the regular TV broadcast will STOP (by FCC mandate / law).
So it is only of matter of time.
