How do you get a second opinion on your pregnancy when no OB will touch because the previous diagnosis? My current OB said that I will miscarry and that the baby has been dead for three weeks, but she never rechecked my levels and I still have terrible morning sickness. I have had no spotting or cramping and just want to make sure that she is right. No one here wants to see me because of liability issues. Please help.

My OB did tell me that it could take anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks for the miscarriage to happen. I just thought that my levels would be down enough if her diagnosis is right, that I wouldn't have so many symptoms.

Sorry about the circumstances!! I would go to the ER at night and tell them i'm having really bad cramping. I wouldn't say anything about the baby bur do tell them your symptoms. They should do bloodwork and a ultrasound. Hope this helps.

Don't tell whomever you go to anything prior. Say you were pregnant according to a test, moved to a new area and had concerns. You just want to see if the heart is still beating and all is okay. I don't understand about liability to see if the baby is alive and that sounds kind of bogus. Anyway, morning sickness has little do do with it if you have a non-alive baby inside of you. You need to get it out asap and there are no doctors that wouldn't do that. Is this made up?

Sigh... This has happened to a very good friend of mine. She was told that she would miscarry her child. He's now 7 (I believe, or 8). Go to your GP I would say. Or.. just do not go to your OB. Wait until you have contractions to go. (This is what my friend did, and Tommy and Shan are just fine.) If it is meant to be .. it will. Will keep you in prayers.

Call a Catholic Church and ask if they can put you in touch with a Catholic family practitioner or OB/GYN.
A Catholic physician who advertises him/herself as Catholic will be pro-life enough to help you out, recheck all your levels and figure out what is going on.
And no, you don't have to be Catholic yourself.

Well, if you've had something that has been dead for 3 weeks in your body, you probably would be dead yourself because of the bacteria. You'd be an emergency surgery candidate, so I doubt that this is true..
