Hello. I never l;earned how to drive. I tried taking the written test to get my learner's permit and failed. I live in upstate Ny-what steps do I need to take to get my driver's liscence? I know I need to go back and take the written test again-where do I go from there? Please let me know. Thank you.

I would add one more step to bobs 4, and it would be the firsst step that you should embark upon.

simple steps (basically like bobs)
1. Take driving classes
2. schedule and take permit test again
3. get behind the wheel training
4. take DMV test for licence
5. wait a couple weeks for it to arrive in the mail
basically that's it

Go for drivers ed classes They'll know what you need to do.
To take the written test you need to get the drivers manual for your state and study it!

Step two: learn to drive.
Step three: Pass your test
Step four: Obtain your license
