I was under the impression that sing internet connection sharing within Windows Vista would be sufficient. Here is what i've done:

- plug in internet cable into computer #1
- turn on internet connection sharing (within the wireless card) on computer #1
- set up an ad hoc network on computer #1
- connection to ad hoc connection on computer #2

the connection is successful, but now neither machine established a connection to the internet. Any suggestions? How do i fix this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

you need a wireless router to set up a network...they are pretty cheap now and days.

Your 2nd two steps did set up a wireless network. However it is just a network of the two computers, you don't have anything to connect to the Internet, for that you need a wireless router which will take the Internet connection and allow the network to access it. Just because you have a wireless network doesn't mean you can access the Internet.

You need to bridge the two connections.
