Do they? I cant say I've noticed I have some very nice Scottish friends and also some very nice Irish friends ,who are friends with each other we all get on very well, living as a foreigner in Spain I have learnt tolerance and try to be more understanding of different nationalities a lesson a lot more people could use.
PS I am English ,so that opens the flood gates for some jokes at our expense

What a ridiculous assumption, i have never heard of that idea, we Scots feel a great affinity with the Irish, having so much in common culturally, both native languages being almost identical and also our musical traditions being very similar. If im honest about this, i think a majority of Scots feel they have a lot more in common with the Irish than the English ,indeed we're the same race, Celts, as you are no doubt well aware .

What total cr@p. The Scots and the Irish love each other to bits. We're descended from the same roots, the Celts. We have the same sense of humour, same musical background, our histories are intertwined ....... we just have so much in common.

I have no idea why you should think one race would consider themselves better than the other - we're just 2 nations from the same Celtic family.

No idea, I have lived up here for twenty years and most of them seem to think they are Irish for some reason. Without actually ever stepping a foot on Irish soil of course, but by putting on an Ireland football strip occasionally

I don't think that, but you get good and bad in every walk of life, but I thought that the Scottish and the Irish got on gr8 together. X

ok. I am half scottish
have been to glasgow at least 20 times

but not in the last 15 years

yes I have heard this before

but I always thought it had to do with somthing in the ( clan )
history,

because on of the clans were so badly massacered
they went off to ireland to regroup
and regrow.the clan

I could be wrong, but that was always my impression.

We don't. Most Scots, certainly those from the west of Scotland, have Irish ancestry. Those Fifers just look down their noses at everybody!

A bit narrow-minded of you to generalise I think. I'm a Scot and I have nothing but kinship for the Irish. blows your "the scottish" theory out of the water eh?

Louder bagpipes,
I do prefer the sound of the Irish Ullian pipes and harp myself.
