you should wait for christmas... if you're going home to celebrate and maybe buy a bunch of baby stuff and get some pink and blue helium balloons and put it all in a large box and have your mom and dad open it and the balloons will pop out and then there will be all of the baby stuff in the box. you should try to get it on video.

Well my mom is not stupid she knew and she didn't even have to look at me, she just figured it out. For you I would wait at a family gathering like if your going to visit family for Christmas or something and tell everyone as a group instead of individually. I did the second thing and some ppl were dissapointed to know later than before.

My husband and I just had my parents out to dinner, and broke the news to them :) They were happy, it was their first grandchild! After that the news just spread like wildfire cause my family can't keep secrets!
Cheers and Good Luck

*laughs* I am not pregnant yet, but I have this grand scheme...
When I find out I'm pregnant, I want to buy this shirt that says "rumors are true, I'm pregnant" and send it to my mom (she lives like, 40 minutes away). Of course with my copy of some baby book lol!
Then I would call her and tell her to be expecting a surprise in the mail. I know it's lame, but it's something I've always wanted to do.
I want to give my husband a bag of diapers and say congratulations on becoming more than just the litter box scooper...... lol

Since Christmas is coming up, I think a great way is to wrap up a framed picture of the baby's sonogram. Maybe find a frame that says I love grandma or something like that.

We're states away from our parents, so we called each of them and said, "Are you ready to be grandparents?" They were all so excited! I'm sure you parents know you're in a serious relationship, and obviously you can take care of yourself if you're not living at home.
Best of luck!

I asked my mom 'how much do you love me?' she said why and I said I'm pregnant are you mad?
For a split second she had no expression on her face and then told me she wasn't mad, it was just the last thing she expected me to say.
My first, her first grandchild
She is very excited now.

I would tell them on Christmas Day and give them the good news unless you cant wait that long to let them know. Think of it as a great gift to give your family.
Congratulations

a couple ideas:
*go to build-a-bear and get a bear made and record yourself saying "you're going to be grandparents!!!!" make it in baby gear or something.
* for christmas get them baby related items as gifts. ie "worlds greatest grandpa" and "worlds greatest grandma" t-shirts and have them open them up. it won't take long for them to figure out what it means! I got my dad a bib that said "i love my grandpa" and a kids book called grandpa and me and had him open it. He was so excited!
