every day i hear that brits are too lazy to work but immigrants will do everything. well .i d like to know who built this country? immigrants ? or the brits that have been here forever?

tuckstie. i asked that same question and got thumbed down for it. if the immigrants that come here are so wonderful . why cant they sort their own country out? if, for example the polish people are so diligent and hard working, why is their own country such a dump that they leave it by the million. are they that good then?

Hi
Immigration= low paid workforce and we Brits are expected to work for the same if not we're shown the door with the attitude..if you won't work for low wages there's plenty that will and I've recently heard that in the New Year as part of our commitment to the E.U we have to accept 2.000.000 Africans, this country's going to bloody sink before long.

Actually I think that if you look at the nationalities of the people who invaded and then populated these isles, you will find that there are very few true blue brits. a lot of scandinavians, germans, norsemen, etc. So dont you mean the immigrants that have been here longest?
And if you look at history, for example just after ww2, the people of this country felt they deserved better jobs than mining, menial stuff etc, since they had just won a war, (very briefly that is not gonna do a dissertation) and hence immigrants were invited from the west indies. Similarly in the 80s portuguese people came to do the jobs that could not be filled by the brits.
And of course there are the emigrants who went to america, canada, africa, europe to earn more money after they had been trained in britain. just like the immigrants who come her are doing. Then theres the thousands who retire to warm countries, using their health care system etc. economic migrants they are and its been happening for ever.

I'm American. Not a Brit, or an immigrant. I am sooo tired of hearing misconceptions about immigrants. In America its "Mexicans are taking work away from Americans!" but they're really not. Immigrants are necessary! America is built on immigrants. I've visited England and Scotland on holidays, and from what I've seen the Brits aren't lazy...

This country is far too small for all these new people. They are affecting all our services, ie schools, health, transport, etc. and we would not need any of them if the British people who were totally workshy got a job. While you are at it, let's kick out the Scots too as they seem to get everything free paid for by us because they are all in the Government and BBC and then whine about it.

If these immigrants are so good why are their own countries in such a mess. The Poles built a motorway, two teams starting from either end. They met sure enough, the trouble was they were 5 miles apart.

The basic fact is that there are too many immigrants in the UK; those that can are leaving in droves.........I certainly would, and I will in the future.
Multi-culturalism is good, but when it comes to the point that in many areas you cannot get a job unless u speak Polish then it is going too far.

We are getting too lazy to work because every time you attend an interview the job is always awarded to an immigrant. We eventually give up trying because it's a waste of time. The British people are being s**t on left right and centre.

I wonder how many immigrants we would have if Britain brought back Nation Service.or if we had another world war and there was a risk of being called up. Yes they all love to live here, but would any be prepared to fight for Britain.?

everything in moderation. we all need to accept that we do need some immigration simply because their are jobs now that British people do not want to do. Maybe if all the lazy chavs got off their backsides and went to work we wouldn't be so reliant on immigration

I'm getting annoyed at people lumping all people from abroad together. Yes England doesn't know how to control its borders but No I don't think lazy Brits should be able to sit on their ar*es all day while I pay for them and the MOD with my tax. Some people who come to the UK deserve to be here and they love British culture even more than 'we' do. They should get a break.
