Maybe a few more internet success stories compared to 2007, maybe the year that pop-rap starts to wind down with rappers becoming a little more serious.

Mainstream Rock starts to get either darker or goes towards grundge as emo is just tired by Dec 2007

Music in 2008?

1st Probably gonna be a lot more worse. Nowadays radio stations focus more on people trying to "rap". Talking about sex, money, drugs ect. at this rate music will be no more.

2nd More people that think their goth, emo or whatever the hell they are, they are complaining about how its one of the greatest sounds in the world. More bands will rise and join the emo race, singing about slitting their wrists and what not.

3rd Older bands should really try to make a come back against all of this. They know that they can its just when people are so fed up at today's music, they'll come back. THAT is when people understand what the good stuff is.

In the end rappers will give up and go find something new. Emos should try to find some of their parents albums to listen to. AND ROCK WILL LIVE AGAIN!

( I'm not against anyone in this rappers or emos. I just think that people who believe their better then anyone else, deserved to get yelled at. I mean not all of them are bad.)

Your going to see a few more legitimate punk acts releasing albums next year. So expect these artists to pop up:
Rancid, Social Distortion, Flogging Molly, Misfits, etc

I think you'll see a large surge of Reggae again when Matisyahu has his next release.

Other than that, I expect a few more reunion tours from classic bands, and a lot more screamo.
