to create a new pancreas? should they be allowed to take donated stem cells and inject the patient's DNA into them and clone him a new pancreas??

Type 1 diabetes is probably caused by an auto-immune disease directed at his pancreatic cells, so, unless this problem was rectified, using his own cells to grow him a new pancreas would be pointless.
If they can give him an injection of pancreas cells from donor stem cells, and they cure his diabetes, then there is no reason why this should not be allowed, apart from the origin of the stem cells. If they came from a foetus, then there would be moral objections. If they are from adult stem cells, or from cord blood, then that is an excellent use for them.
