Someone asked a snarky question about whether there's a part of the Constitution Democrats DON'T want to change, and as a Democrat, I wasn't aware of any part we HAD tried to change... so could someone enlighten me, please?

Loc, my friend, you still haven't given an example of what Democrats have actually DONE to attempt to amend the Constitution.

The last constitutional amendment that the Democratic party might have proposed is the Equal Rights Amendment. ERA passed through Congress in 1972, but failed to get the required 3/4th of the states to ratify it.

The Republican Party has tried to pass an anti-flag burning amendment, but it has never passed through either house of Congress.

Posters from both sides of the political spectrum have accused each other of attempting to change the Constitution, but I don't think they know much about the document.

There are proposals from both sides during every session of congress. Most however are rather innocuous and are necessary only for procedural concerns and few are ever approved and ratified.. The link below is a list of some of the proposals.

There was the flag burning amendment, there was the dignity of marriage amendment, oh wait those were Republicans. The last was the ERA, back in the 70s.
Roe v Wade? That was a decision of the Supreme Court. Just shows how much some people know about the Constitution.

Its not part of constitution..... but the Dems have a hard time understanding Border Security, as they gutted the spending bill of funds to build a fence and hire more border partrol agents. They also ADDED an earmark of $10 mil for lawyers defending ILLEGAL aliens. When every pole taken in the US, shows that the american citizens want the borders secure, you would think they would wake up. ( its really ironic since the Dems ran their 2006 election campaign promising to secure the borders!)

They never amend they just chip away. What was the reasoning behind the second amendment there snarky? Was it to shoot rabbits? Or was it so the people would be well enough armed to overthrow their government if the need arose?

In the last year, they have tried to bring back the "fairness doctrine," which strips freedom of speech (which is found in the Constitution).
