I started at 21
My mom at 19, my sisters at 18,21,24
I personally wanted to start early like my mom ( her first at 19 her last #5 at 38). My first will be like 20 when I'm 40 yet women have their first then (most with medical help) so it's all how you personally want to live.

There is no set age, though below 35 is said to be a better time for the actual conception and carrying. If the woman is in a stable relationship (preferably married) and has a stable income, place to live, etc and is ready for that sort of responsiblity then she should go for it. Plus, the earlier you do concieve and give birth, the younger you will be as your child is growing up and you better chance of seeing the births of your grandkids, and greatgrandkids, etc.

Just a thought.

When she's ready and after she's found good health insurance, in a stable loving relationship (preferably marriage), and only after the two have talked about having a child.

It's not my place to pick a specific age when to and when not to have a child, but personally I didn't start considering it until I was 18. We started trying for our first child 28 months ago and have been trying ever since.

I think it all depends on the maturity level. I began trying to conceive when I was 25. I am almost 28 and still have not conceived. The oldest I will personally keep trying to is probably age 35. If it doesnt happen by then (with invitro or any other method) then I figure we are not meant to have them.

Ideally, after the wedding, and your career/job is stable, and you have a reliable home to live in, and some money in the bank, a 401K, a mortgage, and you are emotionally stable and mature enough to guide someone else's life as they grow... Realistically, at least some of the above!!

It's not a matter of age. It's a matter of your relationship status (being in a married lifestyle is absolute best for both you, the father, and the child growing up). You need time, money, love, and effort.
