Agree. And to those saying torture works, aren't you the same people after we didn't find WMD, told you, it became clear Iraq was no imminent threat, told you again, and Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, told you once again, who have retreated to the position toppling Saddam was still worthwhile because the torture chambers are closed now? Sorry changing your mind is no problem and can even be a quality but conveniently ignoring your own position on another subject when it suits you better is intellectually dishonest. And most progressives will not ignore it. More proof the Neocon foreign policy is morally bankrupt

Iraq is a horse of a various shade so some could say. The ideology is taken into consideration one of constrained growth. we won't exchange the minds of those human beings. they have the excellent to proceed to exist and stay contained in the small circumference of their good judgment. united statesa. needs to look after risk-free practices and circulate on. it is not our united states of america and not our democratic shape. it is how those persons have existed for some years and why they have not greater. The west can no longer exchange them yet supply them innovations to progression. This has been achieved. they must start to entice close their united states of america and its rules. they must start up construction their financial device and does not be so frightened regarding the politics and faith in the event that they worked as stressful as an American does to proceed to exist. Iraqis pass to artwork... get a lifestyles... supply up each and every of the judging....

Chi, surely you're not comparing waterboarding 3 people to what they found in Iraq. Has there been any rights group protesting the insurgents for their form of torture? I wouldn't say that the US is trying to emulate them at all. There is a big difference and it's in the bi-line that you copied. Those 3 people that were waterboarded are still very much alive. Shoot, acording to human rights groups, sleep deprivation, playing loud music, and turning the air conditioner down to make it colder is torture.
I agree that to emulate these people would be wrong. I also disagree with your presumption that the US is trying to emulate these people.

Mass graves were status quo with Saddam. He was hung for his war crimes. Water boarding Chi? 3x and ended ... not like bamboo shoots or did u see Syrianna? American's are pussy cats in comparison. I do agree with John McCain that America should set the bar. No torture. But all things considered? When individuals are willing to strap on bombs to their bodies these means, if they help, are necessary. Just can never be exploited. I believe some of the military took matters in their own hands. Like the CIA. So definitions are important.
I won't even comment on your question . Just the idea. Those are my thoughts. Agree?
edit lol I forget kitty cat is as far as I can say and the p cat phrase gets deleted !

The US does not emulate these people. We do not torture. I do think the US should't lead on that we don't though. Why not scare the muhamed out of a few terrorist. It's hard to be the big bad bully on the War on Terrorism, if the media, and people such as yourself give away the bluff.
These are the people the US should eliminate. Agree or disagree?

This is just one reason why they are called terrorists! They cut off heads, set off bombs that intensionally kill women and children....
But, in saying that,
I resent the inference that we might be emulating the terrorists?
America is still a force for ultimate good in the world.
America is the liberator of All Europe...twice.
America destroyed Japan, the murderers of 20 million of my countrymen!Japan made slaves of my parents in Manchuria for 13 years. Then America rebuilt Japan with huge generousity, Germany too. America gave them freedom from murderous dictators. Now also Iraq! we give them freedom.
And what did that get America in return?
Chairman Mao wanted Nuclear war against America!!!
This makes me feel shame for being Chinese!!!!
The left here insults the President and want America to lose!!!
For shame! FOR SHAME!

They're a very bloody group. But I have to agree with one of the answerers, torture seems to work otherwise people in other countries wouldn't do it. Though, it's apalling I have to admit it does work for many.

Agree. When you sink to the same level as who you are fighting, you become equally vile and indistinguishable to outsiders looking in. If we ever want to regain our moral authority in the world, we have to treat our enemy humanely. The practice of humane treatment will dissuade those from believing the propaganda espoused by the fundamentalist.

It should never happen but America will not win this without getting down and dirty with the enemy. The fight has to be brought to them and they need to be scared of a no holds bar fight using whatever has to be used. At the end of the day its who won not how they won.
