Yes!!I started is using it early in my childhood. It worked like a charm, I read novels daily and I'm still in high school.

I got hooked on phonics and had to go to rehab to get off the phonics! Its addicting man!

you should really just read to your kids, or get your parents to read to you (if any kid would actually do that) I was read to every night and got to make fun of the hooked on phonics commercials every day---
just joking but really simply reading to kids can help a lot.

Yes, I guess it did help me. I despised it at the time (I think I was 8), but I am an excellent speaker and writer, or so I am told, so I guess it was worth it, right?
