my formal is on may 18th.
im not planning on shopping for it any time super soon.
but when do you think i should start looking?

You could always start looking now if you wanted. It might give you more of an idea of what you want. Also you don't want to wait too long, other people might snatch up all the good dresses. =P

At LEAST a week before if you are shopping in the stores. You might have trouble finding your size or matching shoes. A week will give you time to change your mind if you want to.
If you are shopping ONLINE, then start shopping a month prior. That way, you leave room for shipping as well as returns in case it doesn't fit.
Best bet is stores though because you never know with timing for online purchases and it's always risky that the dress won't look as nice on you as you had hoped. They always look stunning on the models, eh?

Start in Feb because that is when store put out there late summer lines. Make decision by early april and know every place that sells the dress you want. Buy it by end of April. that way if you change your mind you are not stuck. plus if someone else tells you that they've made the same choice you have time to change!Check target online. very hot!

If you're a girl, as soon as spring clothes are in the stores; if you're a guy and the school doesn't arrange for an eveningwear company to come in and take orders there, a week or two before the event.

Depends on what you want. Do you want to look different from ordinary? Also depends on what stores are around you and how much you want to spend. Basically, I would say no latter than mid April.

it's never too early to start.
anytime you happen to be going by stores
or to the mall, it wouldnt hurt to look around.
i wouldn't advise waiting until may to shop around.
mid-april perhaps?

you can start looking in march when the spring, prom, weddings, confirmation outfits are in. the colors for the season will be navy blue, kelly green, and bright yellow.
