I'm due 2/24/08. I'm in school full time for Spring. I'm due right before spring break so having to miss 1 week is no big deal. I do not work at all. I'll be going to class in the evening when my husband is home and 2 distance learning classes. I need the financial aid/loans (it replaced my job) so taking a semester off is not an option. Just looking for feedback, hopefully positive.

The student in my department with the highest GPA had a baby this year. She was a little crazed at times (she showed up an hour late to class one day, thinking that was when the class started - six weeks into the semester!), and she had a hard time of it when the baby got sick and her mom wasn't able to babysit because of her own health problems, but for the most part, it worked out. She got an A in my class. The good thing about the baby is it really brings home the importance of bettering yourself and being a good role model.

I didn't start college immediately after their birth, but I did when my twins were 3 and my youngest daughter was 2. I have been going full-time the past three years. Plus, my husband is gone 1-2 weeks at a time working, so most of the time I feel like a single parent. You are lucky to have your husband watch the baby while you go to class. Enjoy sleeping while you can. Good Luck!

I did it a year ago September!

My daughter was born Sept 7th and I went back to school the 14th. In my opinion, having had a baby in college - its the perfect time to have one! You are home more than you are away, so you pretty much have the full time deal of raising your baby - not letting someone else do it for you.

I got to spend the first year of my daughter's life with her. She was babysat by my two neighbors maybe 15 hours a week at the very most. I took as many evening classes as I could so my husband was home with her then.

Now we both work full time and she is in daycare 9+ hours a day. She LOVES her daycare and being able to be with other kids her own age, but I still feel a bit guilty some times . I could not be a full time mom I have learned, but I really really relish the time I got to spend with her when she was a newborn. And I can tell her later on that mom has two degrees and that she needs to work hard to get good grades too :)

Any time you need someone to talk to who has been through it, email me!

If your husband is really committed to helping you with the baby when you're in class, I think you can do it!
