Fur is what the cavemen wore - we've moved on from there but clearly not in the minds of some women.

Seems like there are two intertwined issues here- whether animals have "rights" and whether it's ethical to use animal products (like fur).
I think animals don't have legal rights.
I think if an individual (or several) choose not to do something, that's OK with me.
I don't kill animals just for fun. But if I decided that I wanted a part of an animal to eat or wear, that would be my decision.
Realistically, the whole world is so complex that it's hard to say with any certainty that you're not responsible for anything. If you use any infrastructure, you're connected to everyone who's part of that infrastructure. Your support of the infrastructure enables others to make choices you might not.
Thus, if you power up your computer, you're creating a need for electricity and an ISP. Is there an electrical worker or Comcast employee who eats meat and wears leather jackets? You helped him/her to buy those items because you bought what they sold- electricity or ISP service.
If you don't like fur, don't wear any. If enough people see you and a gazillion others wearing cloth coat(s), they might follow. I'm not sure how effective it is to be shrill.
I think it was PC to make a statue of FDR in DC's mall without his trademark cigarette holder. Ditto his wife and her fur coat. While it seems demonstrable that cigarette smoking is harmful to one's health, I don't see the harm to anyone if his wife wore a fur coat. The PC police become too indignant over some issues and their knee-jerk "I know what's best for YOU" attitude bothers me. These folks should mellow out.

Ya know i dont care because for one... species die off for other reasons other than people killing them for their furs. Two, We're humans. We may not have razor sharp claws, the ability to run 324 mph or the natural ability to breath underwater... but we have the most evolved brain in the world. As far as things dying off is concerned to me (which is the only reason people oppose furs) us humans are constantly researching and our overall pool of information is constantly growing. We'll probably be able to produce our own animals in the future... we'll probably be able to do intersteller travel eventually too... .who knows. People who waste their times worrying about the animals of the world are only focusing on the smaller picture... whats a couple thousand remaining animals in comparison to the universe?... nothing really. If we need something we create it.

We're animals too... If you don't like animal rights for the sake of animals, 'buy' into for the sake of ourselves, if we keep making more species extinct due to the domino affect we are seriously screwing up whole ecosystems, which will only get worse with time and lead to a whole bunch of things that aren't pretty.

ok well animals where put here for food. people hunt them and eat them. you might as well use all of the animal and not waste it! therefor people make caots etc out of them.
if people didnt hunt animals and kill them then the animals would starve from over population or get sick....wich means MORE animal suffer. and when they get overpopulted they move into towns..this is why you see so many raccoons in cities. they have no where to go b/c they are too many animals in one place. sometimes they bring disease to the cities wich make people sick.

Unfortunately it will probably never stop, which is so, so sad.
If humans continue to feel the need to claw apart harmless animals, at least they should do it for food, not for the materialistic use of their fur.

provide it away or thrrow it away I surely ought to ask, why might want to your mothers and fathers grant you with that understanding who you're? thats kinda weird and wonderful extra if its significant to you to grant it some comprehend, then you could, yet you dont 'have' to its lifeless, its kinda performed, you didnt do it, and also you dont actually have some thing to do with those issues as a lot as you could, its no longer uncomplicated to have that kidna guilt and responsiblity on you, yet, in case your over empathetic then you cant do a lot about it yet basically, do what you sense you want to to 'sense extra ideal' and sense you gave it a touch bit comprehend ;-)

No, i don't think it will. Fur is warm, i have a few fur coats myself. I like animals but it keeps me warm. Means of survival. The animals used for fur were raised for it. And to the animal rights, animals can't have rights. With rights, you need to be responsible. Animals aren't responsible. You couldn't give them the same rights we have. If you set an animal free, it isn't going to abide by any human rules.
