My 5 month old is on solids and doing great. He's a very good eater. He has gone through all the first veggies now. Tried each one at a time and I waited 3-5 days inbetween each one. He loves them all. I am wondering if I should go ahead and start him on the fruits or keep with the veggies for a couple weeks? I dont want to start the fruits and have him hate the veggies afterwards. But I just love letting him try new things. And also, since he hasnt had any reactions is it alright to give him 2 different veggies at one meal, or in one day?

You should be fine to start the fruits, if you want to. You can always give him fruits for one meal and veggies for the next to make sure he doesn't get too hooked on the sweet fruits. Once he's had all the single ingredients without reactions, it's fine to mix up the veggies. You can give him an orange and green in the same meal or mix them together. You can also give him a veggie that he's had along with a new fruit. (I wouldn't mix those together, though.)

My son is 6 1/2 months old and he loves the fruits! He eats pretty much any of the veggies and fruits.

My advice because I have been there, done that twice!

Take whatever meal you are having for dinner and grind it up in the old blender/food processor. Add a little water if it is too thick. Mix up veggies and beef/chicken. Its better for him and will be more satisfying. A smaller amount will go a long way and he won't fuss the way he might when eating processed food.

This is totally up to you but at least you REALLY know what he is having and it is fresh. You can store what is left in single meal sized containers and even freeze it for another time. I recommend this because it is healthier, he will be less constipated and also it is least expensive. It costs nothing and think of those leftovers you probably throw out each meal! The only thing I buy is apple sauce, though I like to make it at home when I have the time.

I waited 3-5 days for like the first two foods. And then I realized its rediculous, we have no history of ANY food allergies in our family.

I did go too soon into meats, and it made him throw up after he ate a jar. I just waited a couple weeks and tried them again. He was about 5 1/2 months before he could handle first stage meats.

You can give him anything yellow or orange in the beginning, and then anything green.

Just give it to him. Its not rocket science.
