One of my best friends' mums is having a lil girl around Christmas time (24th-26th) and wants names. My friend (Summer Rose) came in to school with a list of names decided on by her mum to get our opinions. The name is the final 10 and her mum won't change her mind.... needless to say that although we didn't like the names we just said oh there all nice but we can't choose a favourite! The names are all summery because her mum wants a happy name...... The final 10 are;
1 Tulip
2 August
3 July
4 Vanilla
5 Rosamae (Rosa-May)
6 Sunleigh (sun-lee)
7 Annuelle (annual as in yearly and elle as in girl)
8 Maraine (mar-aine (as in elaine)
9 Straughbary (strawberry)
10 Freshia (fresh-e-a)
The middle name will be either Daffydole or a country (either Australia, Ireland or Emmerika (america). Before you say do they live on a council estate, they don't.
The already have 3 kids; 2 girls 1 boy (Summer Rose, India Skye and Neyar Junell (born on New years day and the granny is June).

Like I said nor me nor my friends like them. Summer says she likes them but we think she might only be saying that.

The middle names (Ireland, Australia and Emmerika all have meaning behind them... or so she says!! Ireland is where we/they live, Australia is the baby's dads home place and Emmerika is her cousins name (but spelt Ammerika)) Daffydole is her mum's favourite flower (but obviously spelt dafidols!)

The only one I like is Rosamae. The other ones seem crazy. Can you imagine a doctor named Strawberry, or a lawyer named Vanilla??
Rosamae Ireland is the only name that seems appropriate. I would NEVER name a kid Austrailia or America.

Seriously get rid of all the names of Months and Countrys just think how much your child would get the mick taken at school!! The names of your children that you have already are cute!! I'm not too keen on the names you have chosen but I do like Rosamae!!

The question the parents have to ask is:
If the child grows up to be Prime Minster/President, or even CEO of a huge company, how will that name sound? In my personal opinion, ALL of these sound too odd to use. It's cruel in a way. Also, these odd name will be very difficult for the child to learn to spell!
Whatever happened to calling your kids regular names, llike John or Sarah? The way it's going, these are the rare, unique names! Before you say it, I'm not an old duffer, I'm 25.

If you want a happy summery name then why not choose something like Fleur of Lily?
The only one I like is Rosa-May, but not Rosamae.

Well, I don't know if you are serious but I will believe you.
I actually do like the name Ireland for a girl, but I had wanted to use it as a first name. Anyhow, I like Rosamae Ireland (but prefer just Rose) and August.

Oh dear! Im sorry the only one i like is Sunleigh. All the others are too weird. If she wants flower names, Rose and Lilly are less odd.

They're awful! Poor kids!
How can you call a baby August or July when it's born at Christmas for heaven's sake?
Tell her to get a grip.
What about Rosemary Julia?
OR Natalie Joy?
Rosemary Kerry?
Rosie Erin?
