Well, technically it could, but it isn't likely. The celular phone system has far too many platforms for virus writers to successfully send them into the number of phones they would be required to in order for it to be profitable.

With that said, I recently read an article about this, which reported what I said above, but also said virus writters are trying to inflatrate cell phones, and the ones which are at highest risk are those like the iPhone that runs an OS on them.

You should be more conerned with allowing the virus to stay on your system and infect your friends/family/aquantances/business associates and strangers who just happen to be unlucky enough to be in your contacts, or hook up somehow to your system.

It is our responsibility, at a personal level, to do our part in stopping infections by cleaning our systems when we know we are infected. To not do so is irresponsible at the best, and just plain morally wrong at the worst. It isn't illegal to allow your system to knowingly spread a virus by not cleaning it up, but it is wrong anyway.

I know it is a pain to have to clean up an infection, but if you are not moved by the morality of the issue, are you not concerned about the damage it can do your system?

Please, clean it up and then you have a better performing machine, and are not infecting others. Good luck and a very nice holiday season.
