go without health care?

Is it because they don't want to impose?

Minimum wage is $5.85 an hour X 40 hours = $234.00 a week. If health care costs $600 a month per person, how is this person supposed to afford to buy it?

Well because
#1 Medicare only covers those who are 65 years and older, those who are disabled, and those who have had a major organ transplant. Medicare has a premium and a small deductible each year. Medicare does pay if you pay the premium and apply!

#2 Medicaid covers those who are low income and disabled and each state's limits on income, guidelines, and eligibility are different. Medicaid does not have a premium and covers most procedures.

You cannot be much further from reality. No one says Medicare and Medicaid cover all Americans. But all Americans do have access to health care. The US government claims 47 million don't have health insurance. But you would never be able to prove it.
There are two separate terms that you should get familiar with: "health care" and "health insurance." They mean different things.
Your example is nonsense. Most people earn way more than minimum wage. Of the 500,000 people working for minimum wage, about 75% are in households where there is more than one wage earner.

No Americans have to go without health care. Being without health insurance is not the same as being without health care. Anyone can be treated in an emergency room. And Medicaid and Medicare do not cover all Americans, and I don't know who ever claimed that.

But we do need major health care reform, because the greedy insurance companies are out of control. We need some tight regulations on the insurance companies, or we will end up with some sort of socialized medicine.

Medicaid and Medicare do NOT cover all Americans. You even those who can afford Health Insurance are not properly covered. Claims are often first denied, and do you really need to hear out of both ears. And if one of the many symptoms was a rash, well maybe that wasn't diaper rash when you were an infant -- could be a pre-existing condition. The Health Insurance companies have no one to blame but themselves. Ditto to the drug companies.

Wow when did 7 million more Americans drop Health care this week. that should have made the news right? I had the chance to buy healthcare when I was between the ages of 18-28. I took the gamble that I probably wouldn't need it. I was right. I think many more think like I did.

It is precicely that group of middle class Americans who are too wealthy to qualify for medicaid, too young for medicare, and too poor to afford the super high cost of insurance premiums that would benefit the most from the healt care plans proposed by the Democrats. Of course the Repbulicans have a much simpler plan...Don't get sick...

Some how it seems the guys in the middle are the ones getting screwed. While the Dem. plan may not be perfect at least they have a plan. With a little tweaking we can have an affordable healthcare system that will cover everyone. With the GOP we continue the status quo and more people will be without health insurance to the point that only the very wealthy will be able to afford it. But that is who they cater to so it will work for them.

45 million americans do not go without health insurance.

read the report.

It is 45 million people in america, but 16 million were not citizens.

And it is also that 45 million people in america, do not have health insurance for atleast ONE DAY.

Not for the entire year.

And when have republicans ever claimed, that medicare and medicaid cover everyone ?

Not having health insurance, is not , not having health care.

Wow, the number is 50 million now! How quaint.

Why don't y'all just say 200 million and get it overwith!

Besides, I have had a change of heart and I want free health care now. In fact, I want food stamps too and section 8 housing while you're at it.

Hey, don't I have a right to a decent 4x4 and a couple of quads? What about my right to a rub & tug once a week?

Can I get my pool cleaned by a government program? What about car insurance. I hear there are 25million people in America that can't afford car insurance but they still drive. Shouldn't we be setting up a program to pay for that???

I'm selling my companies becoming a ward of the state. Where's the nearest welfare office?

When the **** does it stop???

50 million? Why does that number get higher every time someone brings it up? That's a full 1/6 of the country you believe have no insurance and do not qualify for Medicaid, Medicare or any of the state run schip programs. It's no where near that high.

My health care costs me 25 dollars a month. Guess what, you don't have to work for minmum wage if you were responsible and got an education or a skill. Hard work will bring you out of poverty and then you can be qualified for jobs with good benefits and pay.

Its not my fault people are irresponsible or have a poor work ethic.
