hmm i think both r good really sometimes i think it is fun too see all the pics and avatars your pics r cool tho who nos i like the choice so u can be wot u want to be and i like dressing mine its fun i might change mine in a bit tho might put a pic on when i work out how to do it he he!!!!

Only you have your face, but avatars can be made by anyone. If you aren't worried about showing who you really are, I would go with photo most of the time. Once in a while an avatar could be used to switch things up and show how you might idealize yourself as a cartoon character! I think seeing people's real face is more unique and interesting. But you gotta do what you think is best for you, considering your own situation. (age, type of info you reveal, shyness, ect)

Well I like the avatar, I don't want every stranger seeing what my goofy *** looks like. Although a picture speaks a thousand words, that is either good or bad. The avatar should look kinda like you anyway, people don't need to know more details than that on what you look like.
It is up to you, everyone has their reasons, I like my avatar
In fact I use a picture of something completely unrelated for my myspace page, I don't use a picture of me, LOL actually it is a squirrel.

It's better to have a picture of yourself. Then everybody can know what you really look like. It makes it funner, cuz you start to recognize different users. The Yahoo avatars all look the same.

Avatars always seem to look good.
Pictures sometimes do not.
If you don't care about privacy and look good, why not? Put your picture up there.
As long as it's not a picture of some body parts...
Edit: when somebody send me an e-mail because they have a crush on my avatar...I don't take it personally, it's just an avatar and their imagination.

i like a picture better mostly so that when i scroll thru answers to any given question i can recognize familiar people, whose answers i want to read, better than a generic avatar. that yahoo avatars all start looking the same after awhile.
edit: i think your pic is excellent.

I like to use my real picture for fun but I feel safe with my avatar. My boyfriend told me to take my picture off or he was going to put his up in some dating site. He probably already has for all I know. Since this is not a dating site I don't like to be restricted.

I think either one is fine, but, if you put a picture of yourself, then people know how you look like. So I like the avatar better.
