Our nephew died in 2006 & we wrote a song?

Question

He chose to end his life with a gun. Brother Terry and I recorded the song at home. I sing and play the guitar and he plays keyboard & sings backup.

How would you rate the song on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest rating? I would appreciate any and all answers. My brother and I are in our late 60's, so we're not looking to break into show business, but were wondering if this is a song worthy of being recorded by professionals.

Sorry to hear about your nephew.

I think you can do better with your original voice. Even if you don't think it sounds that great, it'll still give more emotions. You have an echoing or mechanical sound to the voice, so if you can, get rid of it. Unless that's the microphone that's doing that. Ah, I'm not an expert on this. It does have the potential to be professionally recorded.

That was different. There is potential here, but it really depends on the interpretation. The vocal line is very motowny, but i can here this being a lot of different genres. Pink floyd-ish, country, even maybe r&b with how the keyboard part sounded. not bad though, i say keep writing, and maybe someone will pick it up.

You touched my heart, I had a brother that hanged his self
in 1998, a big part of my heart went with him. So I know the pain. wonderful song I can't see where you should have any problem recording it. I give you a full 10. Good luck ,God Bless and Merry Christmas
