Without the moon Earth's ocean tides would be much less than they are because only the sun would remain to cause them. Also, the moon helps stabilize Earth's rotation on its axis. Without the moon Earth would 'wobble' as it rotates much more than at present. Finally, it's believed that the moon was formed after a body about the size of Mars struck Earth not long after it first formed. That impact not only resulted in the moon being formed but it also gave Earth the 23-degree tilt it has on its axis, and that tilt is what causes our seasons. Without it, we'd have no seasons and life would be significantly different today.

If we did not have a Moon there would be no lunar tides. (We would still have tides caused by the sun, but these would only be about 1/3 as great as the current tides.) There would also be no total solar eclipses which I think would be a shame. We might get hit more often by asteroids, as the Moon probably takes some that would otherwise hit us, so that might have meant that life couldn't have developed so well (that's a bit speculative). There would be a lot less mythology and folk tales as the Moon has played an important part in alot of cultures (although I guess we probably would have found something else to write stories about). There would have been no "Moon Race" in the 1960s so no Neil Armstrong walking on the Moon, which is pretty important in modern day culture. It might have taken longer for Astronomy to develop as the Moon is a pretty easy target to wonder about and work out things like gravity etc. I guess there is no real way of telling how things might have turned out with no Moon so this is all a bit speculative.

The Earth's rotation is being slowed through tidal interactions with the Moon. If the Moon had never existed the Earth would be spinning much faster. In fact, our day would probably only be about 6 hours long! The fast rotation rate would lead to faster winds and stronger storms. The fast rotation speed would also have implications for plant photosynthesis, and animal hunting and sleeping cycles.

There WOULD still be tides. The sun causes tides as well as the moon, but only about half the size and there wouldn't be any of the neap tides where the two combine. The inclination of the earth would be different and there would be severe climatic effects. The current inclination results in the seasons. With no tilt the tropics might be deadly, and the extreme northern and southern hemispheres locked in perpetual winter. Isaac asimov once wrote an essay on the subject. Try your local library. I believe it was called "The Tragedy of the Moon"

Well, generally, it wouldn't affect us too much today; There are certain species that time their breeding cycle by the full moon or new moon, and of course, the Tides would be much smaller.
The impact that the proto-Earth took when the moon was formed may have much to do with the way life is today; that single event in our past has probably shaped many of our lives - including the Seasons we experience. Without that impact, Earth would (more or less) have 12 hours of day and 12 hours of night all the time.

My personal belief is without the Moon, no life. I'll check the Library of Heaven when my time comes and check.

HUGE changes! dude, the pull of the moon affects the tides. if the moon were to be destroyed our orbit would stay the same but the coastlines would be gone and there would be climate changes, I also think the moon also affects the earth's spin so that would screw us up royally.

the moon is slowly moving away from the earth at 3 in or so a year so lets just wait around and see what happens

There would be no high or low tides. There would also be no moon phases.
