Edge is a heel, and a great one at that. Edge can make people hate him, and boo him whenever he wants. a great wrestler can make the fans feel how they want them to feel, and Edge does that perfectly.
Edge does anything he can to get heat, and as you mentoned, the Majors dressed up as him at Armageddon. this was a fun thing, and i enjoyed it.
i hope they form some sort of faction, similar when Angle took Haas and Benjamin under his wing, and formed Team Angle. i think the lack of push the Major Brothers deserve may help them, and catipult them into a main-event fued, and a good push.
i hope this helps why Edge is a cheat, but i feel it adds great depth to his character. after all, he is the "Ultimate Oportunist."

he's a cowardly heel. i don't want to see the majors with him though. i don't want the majors to turn heel. i really like the major brothers. i want either them or jimmy wang yang and shannon moore to be the tag champs.
