Mario party is either for the Nintendo DS, GameCube, or Wii. Resident evil I guess the person who told you about is probably the one for the Wii. PS2 though, uhhh Tekken 5 kept my friends and I up for hours. That's basically all we play. Playstation basically sucks for muliplayer fun games. Playstation = more serious
Nintendo = Better! More Fun! and For Family and Friends of ALL ages. Nintendo is the best system out there and you should definitely pick up a Wii or a gamecube!!!!!!

I am also behind the times because, I also have a PS2. I don't know of any games that you could play that involves 4 players. I mostly play sports games I like the new Madden '08 you can play Madden by yourself or against someone. Maybe you guys could play Madden and have like a tourneyment the winner plays the next guy and so on.

DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION! I can't believe nobody has thought of this yet. Well for ps2, this is the ultimate game to have for company. But an extreme necessity: you NEED to get the dance pad for it. When you go to the Game store, DEFINATELY ask the workers about ps2 games and they'll help you. AND DEFINATELY ask about Dance Dance Revolution and dance mat that you need to play it. I'm sure they can explain it better to you than me since i'll need to use my hands to explain this good and you can't see me lol. DDR is a game where the music plays and you have to dance to it the way it wants you to. For example, the music plays and pictures of the buttons you have to press come up the screen. You have to hit the button when it is almost at the top of the screen. Thats why you need the dance mat. The dance mat is just a controller, but unlike the ones you already have, it is not one you hold in your hands. It is a mat with huge buttons on it, specificaly designed for Dance Dance Revolution. When playing DDR, you are dancing on top of the buttons you are pressing on the mat. Meanwhile you're dancing to the beat of the music playing. I think this goes up to 4 players but then you'll need more mats which is more money. Making sense? Talk to the video game workers at the game store and they will better explain it.

yes they are and a ps2 isnt so much behind the times...they still make games for them..if u want an awesome party get guitar hero 2 or 3 and some other fun games...........If there are alot of people over (5 or more) then i would suggest something like average party games or air hocky or somethin like that...otherwise a ps2 is a good entertainer for at least 1 person!!!!!!!!!

My friends and I often have SingStar parties.....a bunch of people can play and you sing along and duel against people. You can also watch the original music video behind the lyrics and meters. They come in a variety of music genres such as rock, pop, 80s...etc.
Everyone thinks that singing at first is embarrassing but by the end of the night everyone is having a blast and the most bashful person has even come out of their shell.

You could play games online with friends- but if you're going for a party, i think the games to go with are Red Faction and Red Faction 2 for PS2- they offer big maps with good multiplayer options.

resident evil is only 1 player, and mario games are only for gamecube and wii. Id recommend Mortal Kombat Armageddon since it has a racing game (Motor Kombat) which is like mario kart. Both fighting and racing in Mortal Kombat is very fun, but the graphics make the game somewhat mature.
