Internet has changed the world considerably, people in most remote locations around the globe, are well aware of politics dirty games, and they are fighting back for their rights. In ME people are fed up with Elites stealing their natural resources and wealth, i believe the era of the Elites is coming to an end !?
I'm independent, but in regards to hard working Cons, mentioned in an answer, i ask, if Cons. are hard working and have no needs for help, then why the support wars to stimulate the economy? and why can't they quite begging for ME oil?! Also Oprah, isn't on of the Elites ?! The Elites live in secrete society, very few of them been identified so far!?
To give you an idea, you know that all the Banks go to Federal Reserve to borrow money ! But were does FR get it's money??!! The Elites are in total control of Money and Finance globally, they can manipulate the economy and stock market .

Best Regards.

The USA is a republic. A republic is ruled by an elite. Since the USA is a democratic republic, every American gets to vote the elite into office.
If your questions refers to the elite, being the congress and president we voted into office, perhaps they should be scare of the rest of us. After all, we can easily replace them with another elite governing body.

There is no "ruling elite" in this country. Power in this country is earned at the polls, which requires a lot of hard work and a lot of funding.

If you argue, anyone that is rich is the "ruling elite", I point to the fact that people become independently wealthy by their own sweat and blood all the time. So this means, it is not "elite" at all, it just requires great personal sacrifice and great vision to rise to that level of wealth.

I have no doubt, there are times when the system is not fair. Democracy is, after all, not perfect, but it is the best system we have so far.

To suggest there is some sort of sinister "secret cabal" that controls everything is just not true. Look at the Clintons. As much as I disagree with them poltically, their incredibly powerful political apparatus was largely built from their own hard work, determination and vision.

Well right now they aren't scared. They won't be scared until they take so much away from us that we have no more food. Then the torches and pitchforks will be coming in their direction.

no... their system of controls are fully functional, and mass behaviour modification is getting easier by the day.

One only needs to look for a couple minutes on YA>politics to see that there is a large group of people who are grateful to be deceived.
