x² + 4x + 18 = 0
x = [- 4 ± √(16 - 72) ] / 2
x = [- 4 ± √(- 56) ] / 2
x = [- 4 ± 2i √(14) ] / 2
x = - 2 ± i √(14)

x = -2 +/- i sqrt(14). To check, plug these back into the equation and check x^ + 4x = -18
