Love is more poweful.
Hate is destructive but it destroys the hater as well as the hated, and the hated has to know he's hated for it to be destructive for him. If someone kknows they are being hated they tend to stay away from the hater diminishing his power.
Love warms people and turns unhappy miserable people into loving people too so it spreads. It heals the damage done by hate and people drift towards love it willingly.
There will also be both in the world but I know which camp I'm for.

I think they are both very powerful emotions and I would habe to answer that they are equally powerful when it comes to being able to influence people to harm. Both can lead people to crime. (Murder for love/hate. etc) But love is more powerful because it also has the power to cause people to forgive. Of course everyone is different and that has to be taken into consideration as well.

Love, consider why you would hate... I find that it is generaly a reaction to lost, threatened, or misplaced love.
I hate my ex, because I used to love him and he hurt me.
I hate prejudice, it threatens thos that I love.
I love my son so much that if someone hurt him I would hate them.
when I love my job I really love it, when I hate it I push through for the times that I love it.
I dislike Tomatoes, not an overwhelming feeling I lose sleep over.
Hence, love is much stronger than hate.

Hatred of course! how else do you explain the terrorists in the Middle East and the genocides in Africa?

All love brings is happiness. All hate brings is destruction of humankind. Pleasant, no?

I myself think comparison is a rather limited criterion to "measure" (if it can ever be done at all) emotions. Both of them actually propell most human actions. Some scientific research suggests love can actually be beneficial for health, mind and society.

They are a dichotomy... an infinite circle... or however you want to think of them. Neither is stronger than the other.. for neither exists without the other.

HATE - It is distructive and there is so much of it in the world.
Although LOVE can heal, there is not much of it in the world.
