I can honestly say that I am not happy with my life. For the past four years of high school I've just been living a mundane and straight forward life, nothing has changed, there have never been any suprises. For those people out there who are truly happy with their lives, what does it feel like? If I stop thinking about the things I want will happiness come because I will not be disappointed anymore. Help me out on this one.

here's the key to happiness.
Find something you love to do and do it. If you want to lose weight, do it. If you want to have more friends, make them. Don't sit around waiting for the happiness to find you. You have to pursue it. In that pursuit you will find things that make you happy. You don't sound like your unhappy but rather bored with a mundane lifestyle. Shake things up. Join a group. Start a group. A friend of mine in Canada started a jogging club and once a year they dress up in womens clothes (for giggles) and go bar hopping. The club is up to over 500 people now. A lot of laughs.

I'm very happy. I'm satisfied, I feel peace, and I feel hope. Those are the 3 best adjectives I can come up with. I must say that life doesn't always go perfect but that doesn't mean I'm not truly happy. Also, I really think true happiness is doing for others, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and knowing that I am on the right path. Hope it helps. I think you are referring to Joy, which is deep rooted and long lasting. Joy is when you stop trying to steer the vehicle of your life in your own direction. The anxieties that possess men are directly related to the personal dictator called self. Life was not intended to be dictated by self, it was an expression of the creativity of God. When a self takes control, all joy is lost. You are good to realize the mundane in self's "telling of the story" of life. If you let God tell the story you will find it is much more purposeful and interesting as well as enJOYable to live out. After all God is the only one capable of telling a great story with our lives, when we try it is predictable because we fear the results of the unknown being allowed into our stories.

It's the best feeling there is in the world... yes, MUCH better than someone getting off; that is a perversion of it and a crude imitation of the real thing at best.

Take a look at the link below; read the description. If you have time, watch the Public Service Announcements. I highly, highly recommend that book. It is non-religious, common sense, and very workable.

life is filled with many different experiences, all do not bring happiness to most- your attitude towards what happens to you in life is really what matters most. If you have a negative attitude, you will view life as negative and vice versa for having a positive attitude.
Do not ask the Lord for happiness instead be happy with the blessings he gives you, then you will know what happiness is.

Try a bit of selfish self-amusement.

For fun I used to see how many times I could get a free re-fill of coffee with my cup before people would say anything ... It went on for 3 months ... I'd come in with my nasty dirty styrofoam cup and fill up ...

Everyone that worked there knew what I was doing, but just didn't have the nerve to say anything.

It always made me laugh on the way into work and nobody got hurt.

Try something like that ... just have fun and stop worrying

Part of it is being content, but part of it has to do with what you do with life.

If you waste your time and waste you mind, it'll get to you.

I can say I am happier now than I have ever been in my life. Today is two months since I got married, and I am overjoyed with being with the woman I love.
Even that can't do it, plenty of marriages break up and fail completely, that doesn't bring happiness.

I can say that the thing that makes me the most happy is that I believe in God and I have hope. That can't be taken away and that can't fail me.

I think that true happiness must be a subjective experience. One person's happiness cannot be compared to another person's happiness. Life is a creative experience, determined by those who live it.
