Definitely overworked and underpaid. I work 2 different positions, sometimes 3, in one day, and do them very well. Nobody else is willing/able to do all that but me, except maybe some of the supervisors. I get my yearly review this week, so we'll see if I get a decent raise. I can't quit and get another job, because then I'll be making even less than I am now, and have no insurance for up to 3 months!

HI
I had to come back to this one because I had to think about it. Here is what I have come up with...
If you (being Mrs. Successful) try and tell him to demand more money then you will not be helping matters as you pointed out. However, if you hired a "career counselor" or "resume writer" or some kind of professional career coach as your present to him I'm sure he would take their word for it. Just talk to that person ahead of time and tell them you would like them to suggest a salary range for him to ask for. You don't have to make the number up, let them do it. I'm sure it will be way higher than what he has been asking for and if he feels like he is entitled to it he might just go all out and ask.
This way it isn't coming from Mrs. successful, but it is coming from someone qualified to speak on this subject (not that you aren't). I think he will appreciate your generosity and maybe get an awesome resume out of it. I think it cost $150 for mine. Then updates are only $25 for my whole career. Great deal!
Good luck! I know how hard headed and proud those men can be.

I would like to think that it would solve most of my problems, but having that million dollars would more than likely cause other sorts of problems! (people I havent seen for years coming out of the wood work and wanting some money) It would solve my money problems, cause I could pay my debts, buy a nice house, a nice car and go on the long deserved holiday. But, it would not solve the personal problems I have at the moment! Money cant buy everything, but it sure does help!
