Never do anything that will deprive anyone else of life, liberty, or property.
Live within your means, don't get in to debt and save money so you will not be a burden on others in your time of need. Tell them the importance of saving money and the power of compound interest. The most important factor in gaining wealth is time.
Tell them that they are individuals and everyone should be treated based on who they are as a person, and being in any group does not give them any special treatment.

1) play by the rules. They are there to protect you and everyone else. Sometimes they may be stupid, but until you can change them respect them.
2) show up early and stay late. Those who work hard typically get what they deserve.
3) Network early and often. When in doubt strike up a conversation, hand out a business card and work the room until you get good at. Sadly, America is twice as much about who you know as what you know.
