No, I don't think so. In some cases you might not have a choice if they don't love you back. I guess I would distance myself from the person and focus on work and other things and hope someday to meet someone I loved more who loved me back. If you obsess over them it only hurts worse.

because letting them go and letting them be on their own and discovery life is a way of showing your love..you cant keep someone sheltered...they will never break free of themselves..i know this cause I did this...well i broke away from a three year long relationship ...you just gotta let it go and try and make yourself happy..

if you truly love someone i think you never really let go of that person, even if you do move on you heart is still theirs, your mind remembers them frequently and you analyze the breakup, iv been in this position whereby someone who i thought i was gonna marry hurt me badly yet he professes to loving me so much he cannot let me go even though he treated me like crap, and now he has turned his life around, but too late for us!!

I could never let my hubby go, hes my life, the only way I could let someone go who I loved would be through their death, you have to let them go then.

no i wouldn't let them go unless it was essential to be apart obv if you get dumped by someone that you loved very much you have to let go
