I think it would have made more sense back in 2002 to make Gillette stadium a dome, because its New England and we get a bunch of bull**** weather. I for one am alittle concerned the Pat's have homefeild advantage, i wish they were playing down south or something during playoffs, because if u look at the stats, they completely dominate on days with good, warm conditions. Does anyone think that too, and does anyone know if the Kraft family are looking into that situation or what.

And for the record, i pay money to watch football games to watch awesome plays not a bunch of guys slipping around in snow and ice, where u can't even see the yard lines. Mine as well watch hockey instead.

Think back to the AFC championship game in January 2002 when Viniateri hit that overtime field goal in the snow. The Raiders were completely unequipped for the weather. Yes, the Patriot offensive machine does work better in good weather, but no one's offense works well in bad weather. For the Steelers, Browns and (believe it after last Sunday) the Jaguars, the weather in Foxboro is a neutral. For the Colts and Chargers it will be a material detriment. I like detriments for the Colts and Bolts myself.

I did hear about this and I think it is a very good move by the Patriots organization. I hold my breath every time I see the results of this annual competition because you never know what the fans are going to do with these kids. In 1998, the New York Jets had a playoff game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. All the kids were cheered except two who were booed (one had a Patriots jersey and the other had a Jaguars jersey). So what happened last weekend is more the norm than the exception. The Colts fans did not react to any of the other kids at all, positive or negative. Colts fans proved that they are no more classy than almost any other NFL team fan base. If they did not boo the kid, we would not be having this discussion today. As for the Patriots, you have to give them credit for doing this. This is a great experience for someone of that age and could leave a positive lasting impression. I do not think that this move undercuts the Colts undeserving in any way. The fans and the organization had their chance to do the right thing and it did not happen.

Only a bunch of Pu$$ys need to play in a dome. Football was meant to be played in tough conditions. They just built that stadium what? 6 or 7 years ago? They're not going to build a new stadium for at least another 20 years.

I completely disagree. Homefield in the conditions is an advantage against dome and warm weather teams. In fact, New Englands last playoff loss at home was in 1978, they have won every other home playoff game.
New England has a huge advantage this season over teams like Indy, SD, JVille because it takes time to get acclimated to the conditions. By the time January comes around New England has adjusted, other teams dont have that luxury, especially teams like SD and JVille. Indy can practice outside, but it doesn't help that much because like I said above it takes time to adjust to the conditions.

football is meant to be played outdoors, and in cold weather, that's why there's an outdoor stadium up here.

the weather is going to seriously hamper Brady and Moss chances at the records (Marino and Manning each had 8 games in warm weather or domes - for that matter, Manning played 10 indoor games in his record season, plus one in JAX and one in KC in October - 4 total games where weather was even a remote factor)

Domes are lame. Football is meant to be played in the cold, outside. If you don't like it... don't go to the game.

If anybody needed a dome this year it was Pittsburgh. Not New England.

My aunt is a Patriots fan...she was at the Pats-Jets game on Sunday in the conditions. She said she loved it. Football is meant to be played outside in the elements.

When will you realize that you can't just snap your fingers, and "poof", you get a new stadium. They cost money you know. Take a look at Dallas' new stadium. An estimated 1 billion dollars to build that thing.

I wish they built a stadium in Connecticut like New England was SUPPOSED to do in 2004...
